Yoga offers multiple benefits to people suffering from back pain. It improves the flexibility and strength of back, hamstrings, and flexors; relieves stress and has a positive effect on neuroendocrine function. The following is the list of yoga poses for back pain relief.
- Parivarta Trikonasana
- Ardha Matsyendrasana
For people with low back pain, stretching is essential. For instance, stretching your hamstrings increases the movement in the pelvis which decreases stress across the lower back. Also, stretching exercises improve blood flow to the tissues, allowing nutrients and oxygen to flow in and toxins to flush out of the muscles and soft tissues of the lower back.
Additionally, consistent practice and application of yoga lead to improved posture and balance. Proper body alignment and posture helps maintain the natural curvature of the spine. Yoga can positively impact people with back injuries in more ways than one. It can help heal injured tissues, speed up recovery, decrease the chances of re-injury and avoid disability.
